Top Polytechnic for IVP (Institute Varsity Polytechnic) Games 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2nd in 2009.

Our club consists of 70 athletes currently. Our events range from short distances to long distances and field events. We have trainings twice a week which increases as we approach the competition season. We compete mainly in the IVP (Inter-Varsity Polytechnic) Games & the POL-ITE Games. Track and Field Club is all about perseverance and determination. Every NP athlete trains as a team, fights as a team and eventually wins as a team. Furthermore, we want to nurture our members to be able to do ordinary work extraordinary, always go beyond whats expected and adding integrity to every action.

For throwers who attended training, y'all know what to do every morning this day forward. For the benefit of those absent or who are interested, this is what Coach Gerard introduced today:

Take your heartbeat per min every morning just after you wake up. If your heartbeat beats:

  1. less than 60/min = 2 things- either your heart is very efficient [means it takes less heartbeats to supply oxygen to the whole body to prevent oxygen debt] OR you have low blood Pressure!
  2. at approx. 60/min, you are at norm conditions
  3. >60/min = few things- suggestions include that you may have not rested well enough, suffering from malnutrition due to incomplete lactic acid breakdown and also High Blood Pressure!

The stuff here is quite technical and do not hesitate to approach Coach Gerard or myself to ask what's going on with this post. Cheers~!

OUR BONDING CAMP IS TOMORROW!! (11 JUNE 07, MONDAY)
